Just recently I got a published example of an "At Home" tabloid that was produced by my employer. I normally don't look at this publication but I was interested because my photo manipulation work was on the cover. I was asked to add some color to the sky of a photo they wanted to use for the cover shot. It was taken on an overcast day in the evening which made the sky blown out with no detail and the building very drab and cool in tones. So I find an evening sky with a bit more interest and proceeded to use a combination of layer masking and layer blending to replace the sky. It was about a 30 minute job that worked out surprisingly well. See pic below. Before on top and after on bottom.
