I am heading to Columbus this weekend for an upcoming photo shoot. The subject, my recently powder coated 2001 Suzuki SV650s frame and subframe. It is part of a promotional presentation I am putting together for a website I also built for M&R Powder FX company. The plan is to use my Nikon SB-600's in pair with existing lighting and some imagination. We will put up a backdrop to simplify background and place the frame and subframe together on a lazy-susan so we can easily rotate the structure. The idea is to take a series of shots of the frame in different angled positions. The series of photos will then be assembled in Flash to create a virtual studio with a frame that seems to rotate in 360 degrees when activated. The frame is powder coated in a black chrome color that is reflective but also smokey in appearance at different angles and should play well for some great highlight reflections. I might play with some red gels because the color scheme for the site is red, blacks, and grays but may not. I keep seeing something dramatic though so its going to be a bit of trial and error to get lighting to work in my vision.
