At the end of February, I was invited to attend an award ceremony known as the Hermes and held by the American Advertising Federation. The reason? I was told I had won an award by my employer who submitted two of my online Flash adverts produced during 2011.
I was a little surprised. I had won several awards from my employer in the past for work but that was judged against my fellow coworkers. This award is a bit more special because my work was competing with agencies that often get much more time for projects than I am ever given. The project that was up for award was completed in less than 4 hours total with most of that time devoted to logo development.
Toward the end of the night, the awards were announced and I had learned my work had received a bronze in the interactive category. I was a little disappointed it didn't get a gold which brings the award of a sculpted head but, after seeing all the other entries in my category, I felt very humbled to have even gotten the bronze award. It was a tough category.
