Not long ago, I was given a brand new Dell Precision laptop at work to replace an aging Macbook Pro that was developing hard drive issues. I wasn't looking forward to the switch from an Apple product to the Windows machine but I am trying to make the best of it.
After a week with the new machine, I found lots of fodder for this section of my blog and this is the first of many posts in which I believe that OS X is superior to Windows. Windows 7 is a nice upgrade from the horrible Vista Microsoft tried to shove down PC users throats in effort to recoup its money in development for a product they knew was flawed. Windows 7 still has some issues though.
This is my second laptop running Windows software and just as the previous laptop, it too suffers from ocassional Windows Display Driver crashing leaving a black screen until the driver reloads. I'm amazed how common this seems to be on the Windows side of computers.
I have had issues with my Macs displays before but in all honesty, it was due to bad manufacturing and was fixed with a replacement display. This is a software and hardware compatibility issue and it affects many models, not just one.
